AI overview

AI in this application

ai-module brings an AI assistant inside the application: it decides what the AI may read and keeps the personal data inside. ai-module on GitHub

Configured in this application: model deepseek-chat · provider openai (api.deepseek.com) · AI_PROVIDER, AI_MODEL

What ai-module does
It decides what the AI may read

Only the context and the tools the developers wrote: every tool reads its own window of the data, and the rest of the database does not exist for the AI.

It decides what the AI may read
It keeps the personal data inside

Before calling the AI it masks names, addresses and credentials, with Presidio for the names in free text, and puts the real values back in the answer.

How the filter is set, what the assistant may read and what it knows.

What the assistant may read
  • demo_search_articles — Searches the articles of the demo by a word in the title or the body, and/or by the name of the author. Returns the title, the author, the publication date, whether the article is public or a draft, and the link to its page in the demo (not the body). Use it when someone asks what the demo contains, what an author wrote, or whether there is an article about something.
  • demo_overview — Returns the numbers of the demo: how many articles and authors there are, how many articles are public and how many are drafts, the latest public article and the author with the most articles, with the link to the articles table. Use it when someone asks what is in the demo or how big it is.

Registered but out of the perimeter (ai.widget.tools): get_recent_errors, get_error_summary

For the visitors (customer mode, or not logged in): demo_search_articles, demo_overview · AI_WIDGET_GUEST_TOOLS

Widget: enabled, mode customer

Personal data

No filter: the texts leave for the provider as they are (AI_REDACT).

rapyd-admin — what the support assistant knows

Last updated: 2026-09-12. Current release: rapyd-admin v9.7.1.

What it is

Rapyd Admin (zofe/rapyd-admin) is an open-source (MIT) admin panel for Laravel: a light alternative to Nova, Filament and Backpack for teams building SaaS products, and for development with AI agents. It generates plain Livewire components and Blade views into app/Modules, that the developer edits like any other code: no DSL, no resource classes. Author: Felice Ostuni (GitHub: zofe). Site and live demo: https://rapyd.dev. Source: https://github.com/zofe/rapyd-admin. Package: https://packagist.org/packages/zofe/rapyd-admin.

Requirements: PHP 8.2+, Laravel 12 or 13, Livewire 4, Bootstrap 5.3, Alpine.js.

Install in two commands

composer create-project laravel/laravel myapp && cd myapp
composer require zofe/rapyd-admin:^9 -W
php artisan rpd:make:setup
php artisan serve

rpd:make:setup prepares .env, the database, the configs, runs the migrations, creates the admin user (admin@laravel / admin) and a home page. -W is needed on Laravel 13 because Socialite still requires Guzzle 7.

Bundled modules (all optional)

  • Auth: Fortify login, registration, password reset, email verification, two-factor authentication, Google sign-in (set GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID / GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET), users, roles and permissions (Spatie), impersonation.
  • Companies: multi-tenant company hierarchy with 1 to 3 tiers; each user belongs to one company with an owner/member role; data scoping through the Limit and Authorize traits.
  • Addresses: postal addresses attachable to any model, with an embeddable editor.
  • Workflow: Symfony Workflow state machines on models, with transition buttons and history.
  • Log: application log viewer with AI error analysis, plus an activity log of what users do.
  • Search: global search box in the navbar across configured models.
  • Layout: the Bootstrap 5.3 admin shell (sidebar, topbar, dark mode), which is also the reference theme.

Any module can be copied into the app with php artisan rpd:eject Module to change it deeply.

Generators and components

php artisan rpd:make all Article --module=Blog creates app/Modules/Blog with a table, a detail page and a form for Article, routes, config and a sidebar entry (it asks for the fields and creates the model if missing). Views use the x-rpd:: components: x-rpd::table (search, sort, pagination, filters), x-rpd::view, x-rpd::edit (forms with validation), fields such as x-rpd::input, select, checkbox, radio, date, file, image, rich-text, tags, autocomplete, and navigation components. Documentation: docs/COMPONENTS.md, docs/MODULES.md, docs/AUTH.md, docs/THEMES.md, docs/AI.md in the repository.

Recent developments (September 2026, versions 9.6 and 9.7)

  • Themes: the admin shell is now a theme, a folder of Blade layouts (app, admin, frontend, auth) plus compiled assets, registered by a ServiceProvider and activated with RAPYD_THEME=name in .env. The layout contract is documented in docs/THEMES.md and verified with php artisan rpd:theme:check. Themes can start from any Bootstrap 5 template.
  • First external theme, zofe/theme-tabler: the Tabler template (https://tabler.io) as a rapyd-admin theme, horizontal layout, light and dark mode. composer require zofe/theme-tabler, then RAPYD_THEME=tabler. Source: https://github.com/zofe/theme-tabler.
  • Runtime palette without a build step: RAPYD_PRIMARY, RAPYD_SIDEBAR_BG, RAPYD_SIDEBAR_TEXT, RAPYD_TOPBAR_BG, RAPYD_CONTENT_BG in .env (values quoted, e.g. RAPYD_PRIMARY="#6a1c9a") recolour the whole interface. Brand settings: RAPYD_BRAND, RAPYD_LOGO_SIDEBAR, RAPYD_LOGO_LOGIN, RAPYD_FAVICON, RAPYD_CUSTOM_CSS.
  • Dark mode fixed across tables, forms, dropdowns and modals (native Bootstrap 5.3 data-bs-theme).
  • Assets built with Vite inside the package (the app needs no npm): npm run dev / npm run build from the package root for those who customise the SCSS.
  • Module packages: a Composer package can be a module with the same structure as a bundled one (RapydModuleServiceProvider, bootAppModule('name')): migrations, views, translations, routes and Livewire components auto-register.
  • Demo module, zofe/demo-module v2: the self-documenting CRUD of the live demo (Articles table, detail page and form), each page showing its own route, component and view. Source: https://github.com/zofe/demo-module.
  • Upgrading from 1.x: rpd:install injects the traits into the User model; a migration realigns roles and permissions to the user morph alias.

AI features

  • php artisan rpd:context prints a JSON (or text) brief of the app: modules, routes, models, config, extension patterns, to paste at the start of an agent session or to reference from CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md.
  • The Log module analyses errors with an AI provider.
  • zofe/ai-module adds this chat widget, a registry of tools that modules expose to the model, and one service for Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible APIs and Ollama. In "operator" mode, logged-in users can ask the assistant about the application's data through the registered tools.
  • What the AI may read is decided by the developers, in the code: the context files (ai.widget.knowledge), the tools (each AiTool decides which columns and how many rows it reads) and the allow-list (ai.widget.tools). The model never queries the database: it asks for a tool, the tool runs inside the application.
  • Personal data filter (AI_REDACT=true, ai-module 1.11+): before a text leaves for the provider, names the application knows, IP addresses, e-mails, host names, credentials and, with a self-hosted Microsoft Presidio, the names of people in free text become placeholders such as [PERSON_1]; the answer gets the real values back. If Presidio does not answer, nothing is sent.
  • The "AI overview" page (/ai/develop, admin menu) explains both with two diagrams, shows the model and provider configured, the filter, the tools and the knowledge, and what the AI costs per day and month. Diagrams and details: https://github.com/zofe/ai-module/blob/main/docs/DATA-PROTECTION.md

The live demo (rapyd.dev)

The home page shows the animated terminal and the screenshots. "Try the live demo" opens the admin panel; "CRUD demo" opens the Articles module. Demo login: admin@laravel / admin (also shown in the terminal on the home page). The demo data is reset every hour. Registration is closed on the demo. The demo runs the reference theme; the Tabler theme can be seen in the theme-tabler repository screenshots.

Marketplace and other packages

  • zofe/shop-module (orders, products, delivery workflow), zofe/payments-module (Stripe, GoCardless, Paddle), zofe/ai-module: open-source module packages, same structure as the bundled modules.
  • Premium modules and themes will be distributed through a private Composer repository for subscribers (satis.rapyd.dev). Prices and the subscription are not announced yet: say that they are coming and point to https://rapyd.dev or the GitHub repository for news.
